Review by hotel critic
During my recent Christmas stay at the Tollemache Arms, I was charmed by this 19th-century country inn nestled in the picturesque village of Buckminster. The welcoming staff genuinely made me feel at home, accommodating our needs with remarkable enthusiasm. Our room was an oasis of comfort, equipped with modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, complimentary toiletries, and even underfloor heating in the en-suite bathroom—a delightful touch for a winter visit. The on-site restaurant surpassed my expectations with its ambitious menu, particularly the steak pie, which is undoubtedly the best I've tasted in years. My companions—my dear friends who share my love for history and exquisite culinary experiences—also raved about the generous portions of their full English breakfast, which set us up perfectly for our day of exploring the area. The tranquil atmosphere of the bar provided a lovely backdrop for our evening conversations, while the nearby library offered peaceful moments with books detailing the region's rich history. The Tollemache Arms is a hidden gem, combining classic British charm with a modern flair, making it an ideal spot for both leisure travelers and history aficionados like myself.
